Enchanting Lightning Mystery

My mom is an 8th grade English teacher and she is spectacular! I think it takes a very special person to teach that age group effectively and she has every quality that you would want in a high quality teacher. She does so much for her kids and finds so many opportunities for them better themselves inside and outside of the classroom. Yes, I think my mom is amazing, but that's sort of a side note. :)

One opportunity that my mom presents to her students each November is a program called NaNoWriMo, which stands for National Novel Writing Month.  Any age person can do it, but NaNoWriMo has a special section just for young writers.  If the student has met their word goal at the end of the month, they are presented with 5 paper copies of their novel and the opportunity to sell their book through Amazon.

This year, my mom allowed Branna to participate with her class!  (Like I said, my mom is awesome. :) )  Branna was so excited and got right to work.  At the end of November, Branna had met her word goal and was given the opportunity to get her books in print.

You maybe wondering why I'm just now writing about this and it's because of my procrastination that we are finally finalizing the book for print.  (Or you could chalk it up to having a new baby during the month Branna was writing her novel!)  Whatever the case, we have finally got the book in order and it will soon be printed.
